Güneş Işıksel is Assistant Professor at Medeniyet Üniversitesi, Istanbul. He received his PhD degree (EHESS-Paris, 2012) in 2012 (diss. title: “La politique étrangère ottomane dans la seconde moitié du XVIe siècle : le cas du règne de Selîm II (1566-1574)”) and worked as librarian and research assistant, including a post-doctoral position in an ERC Project (Mediterranean reconfigurations). He has also been an associated researcher at the Institute of Arabic, Turkish and Islamic Studies in the Collège de France and conférencier invité for the academic years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 at EHESS, Paris. He has published more than 15 articles, co-edited one book and has a monograph in press.
