Ahmet Tunç Şen is Assistant Professor at Columbia University. He received his PhD in 2016 from the University of Chicago with the thesis entitled “Astrology in the Service of the Empire: Knowledge, Prognostication, and Politics at the Ottoman Court, 1450s-1550s.” He has written on Ottoman dream narratives, cultivation of astrology and other divinatory practices at the early modern Ottoman court, social and cultural history of Ottoman learned class, and Ottoman book culture.
